Time to check in for the “Reduce a Bill” Challenge everyone!

It’s Week 2 of the “Reduce a Bill” Challenge. My goal is to reduce my grocery bill at least $5 a week, from $100 to $95. I’ll only spend a total of $380 for the entire month for groceries (this includes cleaning products and diapers). The extra money saved will go towards debt.

Spent so far: $114.57
Left to spend: $265.43

We are totally stocked on chicken, cereal, baking products and many other things for the rest of the month. I’ve already bought our Thanksgiving turkey and have most of the ingredients I need to prepare the holiday dinner. I will need to make my lists carefully for the rest of month. We have some needs like toilet paper, diapers and of course milk, produce and beef to buy. I have to balance our immediate needs with stockpiling during the Triple Coupon sale going on right now. (I totally rocked that today by the way. Spent $26.23 for $114.48 worth of stuff!)

How is everyone else doing?

  3. Way to go on the shopping challenge! I’d love to hear about some of your bargains.

  4. I updated on my blog on Tuesday. I’ve spent roughly $180 (I’m too lazy to go back and look at the exact numbers right now), and I have most of my groceries for the month. I think I have a chance of coming in under budget this month!

  5. Well, I have had a couple of no spend days but I should be doing better then that!

It just seems like everything is happening at once since November started. Just little things but it all takes away from my no spend days!

I am going to crack down though :)

Everyone here seems to be doing G-R-E-A-T!
