Debt Payoff Progress Update 10/12

October 12, 2007 – 9:09 am

Today isn’t payday so there isn’t a whole lot to throw at the debt. DH did get some travel money in the account. He travels on the road some, and is paid for his expenses. The travel money always more than covers the cost of his gas, so the extra money we just throw at the debt. I took the travel money he got today and put it on the VISA, bringing our total down to $309.20!!! Sooo close…

If I can’t scrounge up some extra money before then it will be paid off October 19th (payday). Woohoo!

It will be so nice to have the VISA paid off. After that’s gone we’ll start working on paying off the cars. We are still on track to have everything paid off by April 1st, 2008.

Fall finally made it’s way here and showed up yesterday with a bang. We went from the high 80’s a few days ago to a high of 70 today (and last night it got into the 40’s). The kids went to school in long sleeves and jeans, and one even wanted to wear a light jacket. I had the A/C running a few days ago and now I’m wondering how long I can put off turning on the heat. We always have at least a few weeks where we don’t need the A/C or heat and can just throw open the windows during the day. I’m hoping we can still do that this fall; the weather has been so strange though.

That’s it around here. We are headed to grocery store for some triple coupons shopping after the little one wakes up from his nap.

How is everyone else doing?

  5. WOW, OH WOW! You are really on a Roll! I am so amazed at your debt payoff progress too! I added mine to the side of my blog for inspriation just the other day…I must have gotten the idea from you lol.

Our no spend days are really great, mind you having no choice sure helps lol. We have had 4 more since last posted, I believe that is a total of 6 since Oct. 4th. One of those spend days I had picked up my meds( which I had already put in the budget) and had used our change jar for cat food on another day. I will have to go back and double check.

    WTG on your Progress!

  6. JW, Mary, & Nomorespending,
Thanks so much for the cheers. It really helps encourage me.

    Heather,
Thank-you! So only 4 more nospend days left until you meet your goal? Good job! I’m doing much better airdrying clothes this week, I have a few more loads to do this weekend.
A good idea to have your goal on your blog. I know it helps me when I see the numbers go down.

  7. What a great April Fool’s Day present! “We’re in debt still…APRIL FOOLS!” Congrats and keep up the good work. I’m going to air dry some clothes in my house this weekend! I’ve been showering at the gym instead of the house, too. Water isn’t that expensive, but every bit helps!

  8. Oh no, I think that would give me a heart attack. Once the debt is gone, I don’t want to ever see it again. And I didn’t even think of the April Fools connection….:)

And you are right, every little bit helps.
