7 Random Things About Me

I’ve been tagged by Lynnae over at BeingFrugal to carry on a meme. Seven random things about me….ok. I can do this right? (even though I have yet to finish my second cup of coffee this morning)
1. I served for four years in the United States Marine Corps. I joined when I was 18 to avoid taking out student loans. I was just WEEKS from flying to UNC Charlotte to start college. I got my financial aid package and most of it was student loans. Some personal things happened in my life and after a late sleepless night I came up with the idea to join the military. It was either the Marine Corps or the Air Force. My dad was a Marine and in the end I went with the branch I was most familiar with. I was able to get the Marine Corps College Fund Bonus in addition to the GI Bill; which I’ve used to attend college since my discharge. I don’t regret my time one bit, and sometimes even miss it a little.
2. I’m a huge procrastinator. Yes. I know. It’s something I’m working on…
3. I hate to fold laundry. But with a family of five it’s a bit unavoidable.
4. I’m not Japanese, but I lived there for 12 years as a child.
5. And no, I can’t speak Japanese. (hey, I was a kid who didn’t fully appreciate the experience of living in a foreign country)
6. I don’t like the taste of wine.
7. I can’t sing (to the point that I sing very quietly at church so no one has to suffer…umm..hear me), but love to make up songs and sing them to my children. So far they aren’t old enough to complain about my goofy songs; but I’m sure that will happen soon enough.
Now I need to tag seven more people to carry on the theme. Tagging No More Spending, Eliminate My Debt, Making Ends Meet, Lose My Marbles, My Good Cents, I Love the Beach, and Becoming Debt Free. You all are it!

Hmmm. We are very similar. I’m a huge procrastinator that doesn’t like folding laundry or the taste of wine either.

We must be twins separated at birth!
I’m surprised that there is someone else that doesn’t like wine. Everyone I know drinks it, and always feel odd for turning down a glass. (now a vanilla latte on the other hand…)

Oh I can’t sing, I used to be a nursery nurse and singing time was horrendous. Thankfully 3 and 4 year olds are quite forgiving when it comes to Wheels on the Bus.

Kids are wonderful aren’t they?
I love when they are little and don’t realize yet just how terrible a person is at singing.
