How to Get Rid of Your Checkbook Register
October 4, 2007 – 10:45 amFor years I used the little checkbook register that came in the box of checks I ordered from my book. I added and substracted mostly in my head; making a few mistakes along the way. Sometimes the register would get *temporarily misplaced*. Although we don’t write many checks anymore I use a register to keep track of deposits, ATM withdrawals, debit card transactions and when bills are paid.
A few months ago all of that changed and I now use something that is FREE and can’t get misplaced under a stack of papers.

This Checkbook Register template for Microsoft Excel is free to download and user friendly. The balance is automatically updated each time an entry is made; reducing the chance a math error will be made. (and no, this isn’t my checking account balance)
What do you use to keep track of the balance in your checking account?

I have never seen this. I am gonna give it a try. It took me 3 days to find my check record(transaction) book. I finally found it in my sons room!

Hi Kelly, welcome! What you did sounds like something I’d do.
